About Becky Sarwate

Becky Sarwate was the 49th President of the Illinois Woman’s Press Association (2013-2017). She continues serving the organization in the role of Digital Marketing Chair. Becky is a former freelance writer who contributed to a number of publications including the Broadway Blog and Edge Media Network, where she reviewed Chicago theater productions, and Wrigleyville Nation, chronicling the highs and lows of lifelong Chicago Cubs fandom. She also published a political/cultural column for Contemptor. In addition, she’s written for PoliticusUSA.com, RootSpeak magazine, NewCity, Make It Better and StreetWise. Becky is a multiple IWPA Mate E. Palmer Communications Contest winner, as well as a 10-time National Federation of Press Women award recipient.
