The IWPA (since 1885) is an organization of communications professionals whose objective is to maintain and improve the professional standards of members in mass communications in Illinois, to promote their shared interests, and to provide for the sharing of ideas and information. IWPA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women.
As Illinois Woman’s Press Association members, we have experienced the value and benefits of our diverse organization firsthand. We understand that economic times are tough, but we also know that it’s more important than ever to invest in your career through professional development and affiliation. We urge you to renew your membership for the 2024 calendar year. IWPA’s substantial list of membership benefits has played an important role in our organization’s success!
As IWPA/NFPW members, we take pride in our accomplishments, as well as our continued work on behalf all communicators. 139 years of the Illinois Woman’s Press Association, combined with the 75+ years history of the National Federation of Press Women, has proven a powerful force in supporting literacy, women’s issues, the First Amendment and freedom of information. We have developed strong partnerships with such organizations as the Council of National Journalism Organizations, the National Women’s History Museum and the World Press Freedom Committee.
We look forward to working together with our membership to move the NFPW affiliate boldly into the future!
