By 2002\, it had grown to five city blocks (on Dearborn\, from Congress to Polk)\, attracting more than 200 booksellers from across the country displaying new\, used\, and antiquarian books\, and featuring seven stages with more than 100 free literary programs. \nAs part of its ongoing commitment to the written word and its support of literacy and literary endeavor\, the Chicago Tribune purchased the Printers Row Book Fair in 2002 from the Near South Planning Board. DESCRIPTION:Illinois Woman’s Press Association is proud to participate in Chicago Women in Publishing’s annual Fall Kickoff event to celebrate the beginning of CWIP’s 2017/2018 programming year. Our sister organization is pleased to welcome memoirist Jian Ping\, also know as Jennifer Kwong\, as the event’s keynote speaker. \nJian Ping is the author of Mulberry Child: A Memoir of China (2008). It tells the story of her coming of age and her family’s struggle during China’s Cultural Revolution. In 2011\, the book was adapted into an award-winning documentary film\, which was broadcasted nationally on PBS for three consecutive years. \nEach attendee receives a drink ticket along with one raffle ticket to win a one-year CWIP membership or any of the many other prizes available.
