NFPW Seeks Women of the Millennium

Nominations for "Women of the Millennium" are being solicited by the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW).
"We in media and communications professions stand on the shoulders of women who have broken glass ceilings and cared courageously for those around them," said NFPW President Vivien Sadowski. "During this millennium year, NFPW wants to recognize their achievements and hold them up as inspiration for our future."
Nominees, living or deceased, should have contributed substantially to the advancement of women in media and communications professions and to the society at large. Nominees must have been NFPW members at some time during their careers. They need not have served in national offices or committees, but such service will be counted heavily by the judges.
No more than two candidates per affiliate may be nominated. A written biography of 500 words or less and a reproducible photograph of the nominee must be sent from the affiliate, along with a $25 handling fee, by the end of June 30.
A panel of distinguished NFPW members will convene in summer to determine the final selections, and the Women of the Millennium will be announced and recognized during the annual conference in Anchorage in September.
Please send your recommendation to IWPA President Peggy Grillot by March 30 for IWPA Board approval and submissions to NFPW by the deadline.
