Pam DeFiglio is all smiles these days at her new job at Patch.com, a startup online news site and a division of AOL. Formerly with The Daily Herald, she said, “It was a steep learning curve to go from a traditional print environment to being an online journalist, but I love it.”

Cecilia Green recently served as chair for Arts in Bartlett’s 8th annual Festival of the Arts. Cecilia created the festival in 2003. Used to juggling many tasks at once, Cecilia is also the 2010 NFPW Conference co-chair, a co-founder last year of the Downtown Bartlett Business Group, manages the Bartlett Center for the Arts and started her own business, Evergreen Public Relations, after officially “retiring” last May.

PenPoints editor Terry Haycock is the new parish administrator at St. James Episcopal Church, West Dundee. Her duties include writing and editing the parish newsletter and Web site materials. Terry also does freelance editing

 

and writing for Evergreen Public Relations, serves as artist relations director for the Bartlett Festival of the Arts, and writes for the Arts in Bartlett Newsletter.

Carol Ann Kunkel has been busy researching, writing and producing plays for the Bartlett Historic Society. “Ghost Towns of Old Bartlett” was performed on the main stage at the Bartlett Arts Festival in June and “Kraut and Krumpets with Beer” debuts at Bartlett Heritage Days in September.

Mary T. Wagner’s second collection of essays, “Heck on Heels: Still Balancing on Shoes, Love & Chocolate!” was named a winner in the 2010 National Indie Excellence Awards in the “Inspiration” category. The book also won first place in non-fiction in the IWPA communications contest for autobiography/biography, and second place in the NFPW contest.
