Aug. 26-28, 2010, to “Meet Face to Face in Illinois” at the NFPW Annual Communications Conference at the historic Union League Club! In fact, put the whole last two weeks of August on your calendar because you won’t want to miss the three Chicago pre-tour days Aug. 23-25 and the downstate post-tour following Rt. 66, leaving Sunday Aug. 29. IWPA hosts the convention during its 125th anniversary year.

She is also a freelance writer and blogger, with a B.A. in journalism from Marquette University, and a certificate from Stanford University for a Mass Media Institute in TV producing. She was referred by Suzanne Hanney, with whom she collaborated on several stories entered in the Mate E. Palmer communications contest.

Cindy Dammann, author of Tailgating Tales: Diary of a Female Football Fan, a year long journey in the life of author
Cindi Dammann, a diehard fan and more importantly, a diehard Chicago Bears fan. It is a diary from training camp to training camp and traces how her love and passion for the Bears encompasses her life. One doesn’t have to be a football fan to enjoy the book. It’s for anyone who is passionate for anything

in life. A portion of the profi ts of Dammann’s book are set aside to help unwanted, abused, and neglected animals. Her goal is to open a cage less animal shelter.

Alice Henry, a student at Chicago’s Northside College Preparatory High School who job shadowed IWPA President Suzanne Hanney last year and interned with her last summer at StreetWise. Alice interviewed Dick Gregory for a 40-year retrospective on the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago and Suzanne urged Alice to join IWPA so they could both enter the jointly written story in the Mate E. Palmer communications contest. Alice is studying in Israel this semester.
