Trying to sell your book. . .article. . .essay to no avail? Open the drawer, take out your manuscript and get ready! On Saturday, Sept. 18, James Durkin will speak on "Marketing a Book (and Any Other Product You Wish)." Mr. Durkin is co-founder with Sheila Peters of The Authors Marketing Group, an organization of published authors who share positive marketing experiences in selling books with other published or potential authors. The group meets every other month at the downtown Naperville Barnes & Noble.
Durkin, author of In My Dreams, a novel about a young man from the suburbs of Chicago who is elected President of the United States at age 29, is currently writing a sequel entitled A Call of Angels. A strategic analyst in the insurance fraud business, he previously worked as a contract employee for an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. He holds Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees in political science from Illinois State University. A political analyst, he has served as a part-time college instructor of American Politics for the past twelve years.
Durkin believes in lively discussion and encourages his students/audiences to challenge their options when addressing today's problems. You won't want to miss the chance to profit from his energy, experience and insights, so join us in September.
