Kevin Krebs, a freelance producer of sports videos and other multimedia ventures, will be the featured speaker at the May 20 IWPA meeting and Mate E. Palmer Communications Awards Luncheon.
Early in his wide-ranging career, Krebs covered news and sports for several newspapers, magazines, radio stations and TV affiliates before finding a niche in women's sports. He played an integral role in successfully launching two nationally syndicated women's sports programs that aired on affiliates of Fox Sports Net and SportsChannel and launched his own multimedia company three years ago.
Video production work for clients such as NBC, the Chicago Bulls, and the USA Olympic Softball team earned Krebs several awards, including an Emmy from the Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
He currently is putting the finishing touches on a two-hour college basketball documentary and preparing the launch of a new company, TeamWorks Media, that will focus on the integration of print, video, and Web services.
Krebs earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies and a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern, where he played both football and baseball. He will discuss how he originally became involved with women's sports and his foray into the multimedia arena.
