NFPW honors top writers and communicators from Illinois.
Six IWPA members traveled to San Antonio, Texas in September to attended the National Federation of Press Women conference and received top honors during the 2009 Communications Contest & Awards Banquet held on September 12:
Diane Laux, 1st place for non-fiction book - ghost writing;
Val Ensalaco, 1st place community or institutional relations, 3rd place newsletter - four-color;
Marlys Marshall Styne, 1st place writing for the web - hobby or special interest, 2nd place creative verse - book or chapbook of poetry;
Lynn Sellers-LaBuy, 3rd place news photo, daily newspaper;
Pamela Dittmer McKuen, 1st place special articles-fashion;
Suzanne Hanney, 3rd place special articles -social issues, 3rd place special articles - government or politics.
