IWPA Historian Named
![]()
Marlene Cook, honored by NFPW in 1998 for 25 years of service, has accepted our invitation to become IWPA’s “Historian”-- charged with assuring that our rich history is kept up-to-date in key national and local institutions such as the Chicago Historical Society.
Marlene is author of two history books: Dolton Tattler: Fact, Fiction & Folklore and Portals in Time, a resource of historical sites developed for the South Suburban Historical Association.
She has been twice nominated as NFPW Communicator of Achievement -- and has held every office in IWPA, including two terms as president. In 1995, she was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Dolton Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her devotion and valued contribution to making the community a better place to live for seniors.
Marlene’s knowledge of NFPW and IWPA is a valued resource. She continues to
enrich us with her membership, service and friendship. Thank you, Marlene.
