Illinois Woman's Press Association 2012 Printers Row Lit Fest

Saturday June 9 & Sunday June 10

As winter nears its end, the IWPA begins planning in earnest for the annual Printers Row Lit Fest, one of the highlights of our membership year. The Chicago Tribune calls its Printers Row Lit Fest "the Midwest's largest celebration of the written word." Last year more than 100,000 people participated in the PRLF's mix of browsing and buying, augmented by panel discussions, book signings, live musical performances, and street-side snacking.

This year the PRLF is scheduled for the second weekend of June (Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10), which represents a change from the "first weekend in June" tradition. Hopefully this will mean an even warmer, more sun-filled event.

The Illinois Woman's Press Association, IWPA (since 1885) is an organization of communications professionals whose objective is to maintain and improve the professional standards of members in mass communications in Illinois, to promote their interest, and to provide for the sharing of ideas and information. Having celebrated 125 years in 2010, IWPA continues to hold a firm place in the history of women communicators in Illinois. Today, IWPA embraces members of all gender and generations. IWPA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women.
