Back in Control: How to Stay Sane, Productive
and Inspired in Your Career Transition

Plan on an enjoyable and lively discussion on careers in transition at IWPA's April 16 luncheon meeting with author and speaker, Diane Wilson. Diane has contributed columns to the Chicago Tribune, guest starred on radio programs throughout the country and has appeared on several major television networks offering tips to reduce stress, manage one's career and the establishment of goals.

Diane is the author of Back in Control: How to Stay Sane, Productive and Inspired in Your Career Transition and founder Grimard Wilson Consulting, Inc. a firm which focuses on the human side of work. Its services include coaching and consulting for career, team and leadership development. With almost 18 years of experience, Diane's passions are coaching teams and individuals to create emotional employment (sm) and enhance emotional intelligence at work. Last June, her first book Back In Control: How to Stay Sane, Productive and Inspired in Your Career Transition (Sentient Publications, 2004) was released.

As a contributing columnist, Diane's writing appeared in the Chicago Tribune's Working Section in a feature called "Insider." Her writing has also been published in the Reader's Digest, Conscious Choice, and in trade media. Known for her compassionate yet practical perspective, she has written about topics including team building, leadership development, managing stress and goal setting. Diane has been a guest on over 30 radio stations all over the country and 10 TV shows. These include ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN affiliates in Chicago, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Sacramento, Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, and Detroit. Diane is a member of the Chicago Chamber of Commerce's Workplace Excellence Committee and a judge for the Right Award for Innovative People Practices, Chicago Organizational Development Network, the Association of Career Professionals and the American Counseling Association. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor with a master's degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron. She has continued her education in organizational dynamics, coaching, and career and executive development including training with Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute? and The Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Time: 11 a.m. networking and registration, 11:45 a.m. lunch, 12:30 p.m. program announcements, 12:45 to 2 p.m. program.
Cost: $30 IWPA members, their invited guests and full-time students; $40 others (includes lunch).  Payment (cash or check) may be made at the door.  
Location: Chicago Athletic Association, 12 S. Michigan Avenue. Parking is available at the Grant Park Underground. The El stop is right outside the door.
