About Becky Sarwate

Becky Sarwate was the 49th President of the Illinois Woman’s Press Association (2013-2017). She continues serving the organization in the role of Digital Marketing Chair. Becky is a freelance writer, contributing to a number of publications including Edge Media Network, where she reviews Chicago theater productions, and Wrigleyville Nation, chronicling the highs and lows of lifelong Chicago Cubs fandom. She also publishes a political/cultural column for Contemptor. In addition, she’s written for PoliticusUSA.com, RootSpeak magazine, NewCity, Make It Better and StreetWise. Becky is a multiple IWPA Mate E. Palmer Communications Contest winner, as well as a seven-time National Federation of Press Women award recipient.
