“Kick Back in Idaho” at the National Federation of Press Women's annual conference
Sept. 11-13, 2008, at the Shilo Inn Convention Center in Idaho Falls.
Keynote speakers include Anne McDermott, best known for her 20-plus year career as a reporter for Cable News Network, Los Angeles. McDermott has covered such stories as the O.J. Simpson trial and the Olympics. As a freelance producer for Good Morning America, she will share insights on communicating in a 24-hour-a-day news cycle. Amy Fuerstenau, policy advisor to California Democrat and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, will provide insight into communications from the national political perspective. Dawn Wells, who portrayed Mary Ann for many years on the TV show “Gilligan’s Island,” will share stories from her past and talk about her new focus in leading a community film festival. Other highlights of the conference will be provided by the Idaho Potato Commission. The commission is not only one of the primary sponsors of the conference, but also is bringing Executive Chef Jon Mortimer to give a potato cooking demonstration at the potato luncheon. The Commission will present a marketing workshop and offer a free farm tour on Thursday morning. |
