Membership in the Illinois Woman's Press Association offers networking activities and benefits that enhance professional life for communicators whether they work in newsrooms, universities, corporations, or as book authors. Whether they write for a living, edit, teach or use a camera, they have a home in the IWPA. There may be no other organization that can bring together such diversity and find the common ground for all of us. Members are proud of being part of a professional association that champions First Amendment issues and sponsors a national high school journalism contest. They also enjoy some great benefits.

One low fee, $76.50 yearly for professional members and $35 yearly for students, pays for membership in both the IWPA and the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW). Members of the IWPA enjoy five local meetings a year featuring outstanding speakers. Nationally, they are entitled to attend and be represented at the national and regional conferences of NFPW.

Additionally, members may participate in the nationally acclaimed Mate E. Palmer Communications Contest. The IWPA's Communicator of Achievement award also honors excellence in our field. Grants and scholarships are available for members as well as national and international study tours. Members also receive both the publication of the IWPA, PenPoints, and the NFPW's AGENDA. Finally, IWPA members enjoy leadership opportunities and professional recognition on local and national levels.

If you think membership is for you, find out more by visiting us online at www.iwpa.org. I hope to see you soon at the meeting of your choice.
